Just watched the last two episodes of the second season of Mad Men … wow.

I keep reading and hearing people say that they watch Mad Men, but they don’t know why.

You don’t know why?

I feel like I’m not even watching the same show as these people.

Every character, from main characters to peripherals are awesome. Not necessarily morally awesome, but deep, conflicted, interesting, charismatic, and funny in their own way.

Other shows are just plot twist machines with outlandish things occurring in every episode.

Mad Men doesn’t need jaunts around the solar system, middle class drug dealers, multiple universes, alien “friend-vasions”, time travel, or superhero cheerleaders, it has character.

Sure, there are plot twists, conflict and drama are necessary for any story, but it’s a character driven story.

Anyway, hell of a season finale. I cannot wait for number 3.
