I was brought up to root for the underdog and to hate the teams that everyone worships (Cowboys, Yankees, Bulls, etc) so my spirit has been repeatedly crushed over the years.

I would say that seasons 5-7 of Scrubs were not good. Moderately funny, but the characters started to get annoying.
Somehow, miraculously, they are saving the characters while making the show top-notch-hilarious again.
